When a device is received for service, it is part of our standard process to verify the authorisation from the device owner before proceeding with any third-party service requests.

Recently, we have received some devices arriving from third-party service providers who are advertising they service Alcolizer Technology devices. However, after collecting from customers and applying charges, they are forwarding the units to us for calibration. Their likely motivation is to eventually persuade clients to switch to their own products, however what impact does that have for the device owner?

• Is extending your calibration waiting time (ie period with no testing) by additional days acceptable?
• Are you comfortable conducting business with someone that withholds this information from you?
• Wouldn’t direct engagement with the manufacturer, offering warranty, service and support, be more beneficial?
