Changes to Australian Standard AS3547:2019

On 22nd January 2021 Standards Australia published an update to Australian Standard AS3547:2019 Breath alcohol testing devices.

Amendment 1 now states:

“AS3547-1997 will also remain current for 36 months after the date of publication of this Standard and after this time will be superseded by AS3547:2019”

This means that the expiry of AS3547:1997 has been extended by an additional 18 months to 28th June 2022.

This extension provides those manufacturers who have been unable to achieve certification time to get their devices tested and certified by the relevant authorising bodies.

Unlike many manufacturers, Alcolizer Technology made the decision in 2019 to invest in achieving the new standard with a focus on achieving the initial deadlines.

Now, with the addition of Wall Mount 4 certified to AS3547:2019, Alcolizer products continue to lead the market for certified Alcohol breath testing devices.
