National Standard for Health Assessment of Rail Safety Workers
Following on from our December blog post about the updated National Standard for Rail Transport Operators, the National Transport Commission (NTC) has published a new resource to support implementation.
This new resource has been developed in collaboration with the Australasian Railway Association (ARA) and the Rail Industry Safety and Standards Board (RISSB) to assist rail workers, operators, and medical professionals in understanding and applying the health risk management process outlined in the revised standard.
Included are risk categorisation and the requirements for health assessments, along with templates and worked examples. While many industries adapt to the changing landscape of workplace testing, these resources provide great insights into improving safety and offer clear guidance on risk management. For more details and to access the resource, visit the NTC website.
