HLTPAT010 Replaces HLTPAT005 for Drug & Alcohol Testing Training
The formal qualification HLTPAT005 – Collect Specimens for Drugs of Abuse Testing has been superseded. The new standard is HLTPAT010 – Collect Specimens for Drugs of Abuse Testing, introduced under updated regulatory requirements. If your workplace conducts drug and alcohol testing, it’s essential to transition to HLTPAT010 to maintain compliance and ensure legally defensible testing practices.
Why HLTPAT010 Is Critical for Compliance
HLTPAT010 reflects the latest compliance standards and is considered the industry standard for specimen collection. It ensures your testing program aligns with:
- Australian & New Zealand Standards
- State and Commonwealth legislation
- Industry best practice codes
Under Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) guidelines, all drug screening officers must hold a Statement of Attainment (such as HLTPAT010) to demonstrate competency as a “collector” under Australian Standards.
