Precision Policing in Extreme Conditions

As snow blanketed the alpine regions of New South Wales, Operation Snow Safe once again showcased the unwavering commitment of NSW Police in keeping communities safe – no matter the weather.

Alarming Road Safety Statistics

  • 1,575 infringement notices were issued (1,110 were for speeding offences)
  • 11 individuals were charged with drink driving
  • 8 infringement noticeswere issued for low-range PCA (reading between 0.050 and 0.079)
  • 35 not-negative drug tests were recorded, with samples sent for secondary testing

These figures reflect a concerning trend of excessive speed and risky driving – even in hazardous winter conditions.

Accuracy That Supports Enforcement

These results highlight the importance of ongoing roadside drug and alcohol testing. Throughout the operation, the LE5 breathalyser proved its value once again – delivering accurate, reliable results in extreme cold and snowy environments. Its robust performance ensures that officers can make informed decisions with confidence, even in the most challenging conditions.

A huge thank you to the NSW Police for your tireless work. Your dedication to road safety, even in the harshest environments, is appreciated.
