By the End of this Workshop, Participants Will be Able To:

  • Understand the requirements of HLTPAT010 Collect Specimens for Drugs of Abuse Testing.
  • Prepare for specimen collection in accordance with workplace procedures and relevant standards.
  • Obtain informed consent and verify donor identity.
  • Conduct oral fluid and urine specimen collections in accordance with workplace procedures and legislative requirements.
  • Apply chain of custody, specimen handling and documentation requirements.
  • Maintain privacy, confidentiality, professionalism and duty of care throughout the collection process.
  • Identify and respond appropriately to specimen integrity issues and collection challenges.
  • Complete post-collection procedures and documentation accurately.


Training is ideal for Workplace Drug and Alcohol Screening Officers, WHS and Safety Professionals, Human Resources Personnel, Workplace Testing Providers, Collection Officers, Mining, Construction and Transport Personnel and employees responsible for workplace drug and alcohol testing programs. Training is delivered through trainer-led presentations, facilitated discussions, practical demonstrations, hands-on collection activities, scenario-based learning, workplace examples, individual and group activities, question and answer sessions, and theory and practical assessment activities.


Certification

Upon successful completion of all training and assessment requirements, participants will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment and Attainment card that can be presented when conducting workplace testing activities.


Workshop Confirmation

This workshop is subject to minimum participant numbers being reached. Should minimum numbers not be achieved, affected participants will be notified at least 14 days prior to the scheduled training date and offered one of the following options:

  • Proceeding with the workshop on the scheduled date where possible
  • Transferring to an alternative workshop date
  • Receiving a full refund where applicable
