Caught with Cocaine

Being caught with 15g of cocaine was the best thing that could have happened to me are the words directly from a tradesman in Cairns working in remote communities that had been spiraling with drug use. He was stopped as part of a drug and alcohol testing operation and tested negative to alcohol testing but his drug test indicated cannabis and cocaine in his system.

New NSW Drug Law?

In NSW, it is against the law to drive with the presence of any illegal drug in your system. Penalties can include heavy fines, licence suspension, licence disqualification and imprisonment.

As of this month, NSW police can issue up to two on the spot Criminal Infringement Notices (CINs), resulting in $400 fines, to adults for personal drug use and small quantity drug possession offences.
